We treat a range of pregnancy related aches and pains including pelvic girdle pain. We have pregnancy pillows in clinic that allow you to lie face down for your treatment. We use a range of techniques including soft tissue therapy and joint mobilisations to ease your pregnancy related aches and pains. We also see a lot of women for pregnancy massage – if you don’t have any aches and pains and would like to have a drainage massage or relaxing massage get in touch today. 

We offer the Mummy MOT at the Health Hub. This is a comprehensive Post natal check up. 

We’ll take a full history from you around conception, pregnancy and birth. 

 

Your post natal check up will also include a tummy gap check, bowel and bladder dysfunction check, Pelvic floor check and posture check. We’ll then give you a report of findings and advice on how you can recover well.

Lower back pain treatment at the health hub
Low back pain is one of the most common conditions we treat.
We’ll establish what is causing and maintaining your back pain through assessment, and then you’ll be put onto a treatment plan that will involve advice, manual therapy and exercise therapy to ease the pain and strengthen your back to stop it returning.

It is said that over 80% of adults will have back pain at one time in their life.
The spine is strong and can withstand a lot of pressure although once injured, the spinal cord/nervous system can rewire and become more alert which may explain why episodes of back pain reoccur.

How do you know if you have poor circulation? 

Tingling 

Cold extremities (fingers and toes) 

Cramping muscles after staying in one position for a while

Pain and Swelling of the legs. 

Osteopathy can help by promoting better blood flow from the extremities to the heart. Using lymphatic drainage techniques, we can help to restore balance to the blood flow around the body.

Shoulder pain is very common and can be very painful. 

Frozen shoulder is characterised by loss of movement, Pain and can hurt at night time. 

Tennis elbow is an inflammation of the common tendons that attach to your elbow bones from your forearm muscles. 


We’ll assess your shoulder and establish whether further investigation is implicated and then formulate a treatment plan including Osteopathic manual therapy, dry neeling (medical acupuncture) and rehabilitation exercises to ease your pain. 

Osteopathic treatment can help diagnose and treat various headache types. 

We’ll establish which type of headache you have ie: Tension, Cervical, Migraine and then devise a treatment plan that will help you get fast pain relief. 

The treatments for headaches usually include Soft tissue manipulation(massage techniques), Traction, manipulation to the vertebrae in the neck, gentle movement of the neck to alleviate the tension through the shoulders and neck. 

Joint pains are a very common condition and can happen to anyone at any age. 

Once we’ve established where your joint pains are coming from, we’ll begin treatment which may include articulation or the joints, manipulation or soft tissue therapy as well as exercise and rehab to strengthen the area around the joint to alleviate the pain and leave you strong.

Some patients are unsure which catagory their pain fits into which means they have generalised aches and pains. Your Osteopath can establish where these aches are coming from and can treat these for you. 

We will look at your movement, mobility, flexibility and general health to reach your pain free goal effectively and safely. 

Sports injury at the Health Hub. 

We pride ourselves in helping our sports people live and play their sports pain free and return to their discipline strong and fit. 
We treat a range of sports injuries including Netball injuries to the knees, rugby injuries, running and cycling injuries, hip injuries. Our aim is to get you back to your sport as quickly as possible. 
Treatments will include specific rehab and exercise therapy as well as manual therapy techniques. 

Muscle spasms are painful contractions of muscles 

At the Health Hub we’ll establish why this is happening to your muscles through testing. 

Your treatment for Muscle spasms may be lifestyle related, exercise therapy based or manual osteopathic techniques such as soft tissue manipulation, articulation and joint manipulations 

We’ll make sure your nervous system is working well and that there are no issues with the conduction of your nerves to your muscles. 

Neuralgia – Nerve Pain 

Nerve pain can present as:

Tingling, numbness or pins and needles. This means that somewhere along the course of the nerve (which originates from the spinal cord) there is some inflammation or loss of space. 

We’ll establish what the root (pardon the pun) cause is of your Neuralgia and treat you to relieve your symptoms. Your treatment may include manual therapy techniques such as joint manipulations, soft tissue therapy and exercise therapy to improve the health of your nerves such as nerve flossing and strength exercises. 

As Osteopaths we love to treat you as a person not a condition. If you have trouble relaxing and sleeping, we have treatments that can help. In your case history we’ll talk about some of the reasons you may have tension. We’ll then go through techniques that can help you relax such as Cranial osteopathy, breathing techniques, meditation and other calming routines 

Rheumatic pain is characterised as joint pain. 

We’ll establish where your joint pain is stemming from and then work together towards improving your symptoms.

You’ll receive a diagnosis and treatment plan which will consist of Osteopathic techniques and exercise therapy. 

The Sciatic nerve is a large nerve that leaves your spinal cord in the low back region and gives power to the muscles, tissues and skin of your legs and feet. 

An injury to the sciatic nerve can be very painful and give you tingling, numbness and pins and needles into the leg. 

Treatment for Sciatica can include joint manipulation, soft tissue massage, Medical acupuncture, gentle articulation to the low back and progressive exercise therapy.
