Osteopathy clinic in Ledian Gardens, Kent

If you haven’t been to see an Osteopath before, it can be daunting … You may have heard a thing or two about what happens, but it’s good to hear it from the horse’s mouth!

Initial Consultation

The first 10-20 Minutes – Case History.

During your first visit, the Osteopath will take a detailed medical history from you and find out what your goals and expectations are from the appointment. This is a great opportunity for you to express your concerns, and ask any questions you may have about your health or injury.

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.

If you suffer from a condition that is affecting your daily life or have unexplained pain or injury, Osteopathy may bring you relief. The goal is to optimise your body to function better, bringing you freedom of movement and a pain-free life. This in turn will improve your quality of life.

Both our dedicated osteopaths, Victoria Thomas and Ashley Pentecost are highly experienced and committed to providing top-quality care to each and every patient. With years of training and practice.
Victoria helps people of all ages live pain-free, and is very passionate about helping pregnant patients as well as post-natal. Victoria offers Mummy MOT and post- natal Osteopathy. Many of her patients also attend her yoga classes/workshops and retreats. Ashley is skill-led in identifying and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal issues, from chronic pain to sports injuries.

Our Osteopaths take a holistic approach to patient care, taking into account each patient’s unique needs and goals. Whether you’re seeking relief from back pain or working to improve your range of motion, we’ll work closely with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that delivers results.

More About Your Appointment

Now we’ll take a closer look at your injury/health concern by conducting some tests. We’ll usually get you to do some movements to establish where the pain may be stemming from. We may also conduct a neurological, orthopaedic and/or blood pressure screen. This part is hands-on. We will always communicate our intentions throughout the appointment and you can ask questions anytime.

After the assessment we will discuss the diagnosis with you. If we feel further tests are needed we’ll talk about it at this point. Most of the time we now talk about your treatment plan.

The bit you probably heard about! We’ll start treatment which may involve exercise therapy, soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, manipulation or medical acupuncture.

What sort of treatments do Osteopaths use?

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

There is no set number of treatments. This will depend on the severity length of time you have had your issue. For minor problems, only a few treatments are needed. The majority may need a course of 4-6 treatments. Treatments normally happen on a weekly basis. When you start to see improvement, your Osteopath may extend your next visit to 2/3 weeks to give you time to do your rehabilitation. This will always depend on the plan you’ve made and your practitioner will decide this with you.

First Appointment 50-60 mins £60

Follow up appointments 30 mins £48

Follow up appointments

You may experience some soreness after treatment as we get to the root of the problem. You’ll be offered post-treatment advice and exercise therapy to support your healing. The follow-up appointments will mainly consist of the treatment stage.
